  1. O. Brown Says:

*****< Br /> Geneen Roth hits a home with his latest book on overeating and run a lot more in “Women, Food, God.” The theme of the book is that the way we eat, how we think about food and treat us is about how we do everything. The author then shows us how and why it is. She describes the food she prefers to race and women who visit it, and you as readers probably somehow identify with each person – and the lesson she reveals her life. It is a complex book that his first book because of the spiritual dimension, she sees problems with overeating as the gateway to spiritual enlightenment. You convince me (and convince you), that instead of trying to fix or get rid of our food problems, we should use them to find within ourselves the spiritual life important to learn from our feelings and to grow and heal so that we end up eating as a spiritual practice. And then we are facing an end to the misery always with weight and self image, and always striving to improve our relationship with food.

The book is so good that reading for me but it was like a spiritual awakening in this area of my life. I found it motivating, inspiring and frightening in the right direction – and the author makes possible the whole process with descriptions of practices that can be used on food healing / awakening journey and meditation, Investigation, Food and guidelines. These practices are specific to the process, and they are described in detail. This spiritual dimension is generic and does not require religious faith, or even a religious conviction. It would be compatible with any type of spirituality. The type of feeding is practiced, intuitive eating (listen to recognize your body what it wants), and no matter what you eat your way to implement an intuitive approach – to live this way on a book about food, not a food plan.

If you have other books the author has read (like me) you’ll be much new information here. Other key themes of the book include awareness, presence and sense of your feelings. The author is brutal, but honest to describe how destructive power industry, comes to women. Again, this is certainly not a diet book or diet, but a way of experiencing life that allow you to be present and aware, so you can listen to your body and choose foods to food and
    self-care.
Although there is a quick reference reading (I read in one evening), this book is so precious that you want to send, you mark for later asked notes in the margins, and use of newsprint. There is only one negative, and it is a Biggy: paper in this hardcover book is like Super Paper Art Paperback cheap. I’ve never seen a real book of any kind with these papers, if! I tried to select articles and the flag would not only drain in the back of the page, but sometimes the previous page! It is difficult to describe the frustration is that — a book that is a real disposable paper holder. For my part, stressed and my book is a mess, but I decided to rebuy on Kindle when it comes out. I’ve never done this before, but it is good that the book – the value of months (or maybe even years) of therapy. Also, I would buy it again when it is printed (and I bet it is) with a document that the quality of the work corresponds.

The flaw aside, I’m so glad I bought this book. I have many, many books on overeating, nutrition, peer support, reading styles of eating, and more, and this book stands out from the crowd. The message is important for any woman who handle their relationship with food, weight and spirituality in a healthy control, and be quite. If so, you will not be disappointed, I promise.

    Highest recommendation.

As a longtime fan of Roth, Dieter and resume writing as a chronic binge eaters, and someone, consulting and teaching in the same field, I wondered what she could that she did not say. The answer is not so much a matter brilliant news is that his way of adding it all and write with such clarity, humor and wonderful language. Roth is smart, no doubt. Their wisdom comes from work by their own struggles with food (and life) and experiential learning of the study, which, for health and happiness. As a lay person supported, was my only fear for the book, it would be about spirituality or religion. It is not. It’s about love and the best in themselves. Whether you overeat, under-eating or Yo-Yo restore, you be moved and changed by reading this book.

  3. E. Acker Says:

Wow, this book has been wonderful. If well written, with humor and spiritual wisdom. Very very powerful sets.
I’m eating disorders since my first diet at age 14 years had. I still remember a bit of approval for weight reduction, even though I was not overweight to begin with. Thus began my long and sad history of eating disorders. I am never the true love of my parents, but the boy I try to look good, trying for that.
“I still eat everything on my plate and a” good girl “. Some foods are bad, others good. I was an excellent student. So, when I was an adult, I’m just like Geneen Roth describes himself – Food for all occasions hungry. If I get angry or eat alone I felt. I would if I could not speak to them binge I wanted to be close to – family members and friends. I lived in a killing field. I was always so tired of the yo-yo, up and down with the weight gain and pain, then a time of healthy eating, and then not want to eat and cooked.
I finally understand more about this disease: Geneen was that I was distracted by the focus on the history of yo-yo. I would now like to look the truth, starting with all of my (current and future positive characteristics), to live and work. I do not need to be placed on the compulsive eating in this hell. I do not need permission from my mother or someone else – that my own self-validation.
Thank guidelines and suggestions are helpful, but not so easy to follow, but worth it for me. The spiritual guidance and love throughout are invaluable. Hello, I can really learn about love Eileen daily for food, work, my family and my friends, nothing (as I’m at I). The food is not love, but this does not mean I can not enjoy it, and eat when I’m hungry and when I want something. It all comes down to what voice calls Geneen, and I know very well that my modifications. I started to change that. My voice now speaks slowly and with more kindness towards me. I judge not eat, and I consider myself not eat food (all food types). I find that I myself as a child, my husband lately, he noted, also.
I heard many of these ideas, but the way they are presented in this book, it is like a bible for Compulsive Overeaters. Keep at hand, I want to buy this book and read it several times – it allows me to create habits, I want to be closer to God, and a normal eater, I can get.
Thank you, Ms. Roth for the creative work of art and compassion

  4. G. J. Brown Says:

This book is intended primarily to issues related to food addictions. For some of us food replace other dependencies that are not as socially accepted. Ms. Roth will be brought in and help some of the areas that keep you away from the chain negitive behavior additive. You can read the book and talk or you can read the book and the search for the soul and must be changed. These are decisions. Even thought I never Geneen Roth I think she knew from his reading of many books met them, they make you laugh and make you cry, but always ask questions. I would have the resources, visit one of his workshops and thank her personally. I started my journey, but we also know that I must go a long way, that does not happen overnight and it can not be solved overnight.

  5. A. Mack Says:

I am a big fan of Oprah, and I will continue to read everything she recommends. In other words, the book was very disappointing. I know it’s emotional eating, I get that it is a continuation of Roth’s other books, but it is not at all about God or spirituality. She describes her patients and their retirement, eat it offers valuable information on emotional, but then the book ends. Roth describes, women and food, but not God. I think almost fear Roth drive alienation was, she could not really there? I do not buy, not the book, but I say if you eat for a connection between your relationship with God and your emotional health, trying to read something else.
