The first novel by Kathryn Magendie is a tour de force of narrative lyrical, heartfelt insights and exquisite details. OFFERS Graces qualifies as an “Oprah Book” in the best sense of the word: The story of a dysfunctional family that is neither bad nor all good, but just very poor and has investigated a wide range of marriages, childhood emotional abuse, forgiveness and family loyalty. Warm, not too sentimental, funny, not frivolous, and touching, is not sentimental, tender thanks to a good start for a career as a writer of Magendie. If you like the novels of Barbara Kingsolver, Anne Tyler and Sue Monk Kidd, then this book is for you.

When I ordered this book, the 17 reviews on Amazon book five stars, so I was expecting a fantastic read. I was disappointed. If you have not read Connie May Fowler Women Wings before, small altars Rebecca Wells’ everywhere, and Rick Bragg’s All Over But the Shoutin, I recommend more of these wonderful books. Bring actions Graces Child “difficult in the South” issue, but I found less appealing, and I did not like writing. In my opinion, there are so many more books with similar plots.

“Regardless, we’ll take care of our Mommas and we always remain so.” The only statement of his aunt, Billie, defines the life of Virginia Carey Kate and her brothers, as I said, the overall credibility of care and Kathryn Magendie into the good graces bidding. It is rare that the impact of neglect and cruelty to children as adults with grace and clarity are presented. We applaud the resilience of children, but see the scars that remain as the eternal and can find little sympathy for the perpetrators, regardless of the reason for their actions.
Virginia Mother Kate, Katie Iven is a cruel, alcoholic, promiscuous, narcissistic beauty that is difficult to love. His father is not perfect, far from it, but he does his best to ensure stability for children and it’s something everyone the chance, he is a true saint in his new wife, Rebekha. We find ourselves rooting for Rebekha guilty and impatient with his reluctance to love Kate Virginia. Although we believe that a burst of good motivation Iven Katie want, it is too slippery to grasp.
Despite its main theme is the history of Virginia Kate beauty, full of secrets and the joys of life. Transcending the genre of women’s literature, it is reminiscent of classics like Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.
