A week ago, I read an article in The New York Times about a new book this week by the incomparable Carol Burnett. Needless to say, fascinated (read One More Time at least twice), I decided to jump on it blindly (which I recommend you, if you’re a fan like me). I’m always glad I did!

Carol Burnett is 100% class. Most people, when they write the way a book of anecdotes of this kind would be to say a word means anyone. But in this case, Carol Burnett does not seem to say a word to say about anyone in this book. We can all learn from their example.

Carol Burnett type of class that 99 eclipses. 9% of Hollywood at the time. In the era of the news channel 24 hours, TMZ, and negativity of all kinds, Carol Burnett is the fresh air we have an urgent need at a time when we most need.
    > Some of the stories here are very sad, especially the time that Carol talks back on the events prior to the creation of Hollywood Arms few years.

have, however, most of the stories (many of which I have never heard or seen) the spirit signature razor-sharp that were Carol and Businesses ( and) are known for. Two particular points of note are the stories she shares about Lucille Ball (laugh out loud funny) and the story of how they are hooked on Harvey Korman Carol Burnett Show.
    > In short, if you negativity, meanness, and want other things that are oh so common these days, this book is not convincing, about this in the least. However, if you have something that is too rare these days, such as class, kindness, humor when it is necessary to want something and 100% authentic, this book is for you.

If they ever do a survey on “Best Entertainer of heart,” chances are Carol Burnett would be high on the list or in the top five. Ditto for “funny comedian.” For decades, this intelligent, funny and endlessly Call Funny Lady has brought joy and laughter, people around the world. In his book, and equally appealing this time, Burnett shares some of the most important – and often funny – moments of his long career. I have not enjoyed a book so many years!

has been for many of us baby boomers, our first contact with talent on the Burnett Show “Garry Moore” or “Julie and Carol at Carnegie Hall. “They are certainly smooth and rubbery face with this organization not to mention a beautiful singing laughing. But what most impressed them was gentle and natural. What you saw what you do: I ‘ have a talented singer and actress who did not seriously. This impression was strengthened when only their own show, which I think the best, funniest vaudeville never happened.

The same qualities are all evident at this time. In short chapters, she takes the reader through his life and the many people she met on the road. It remember your friends and colleagues with an obvious joy and affection. They are tireless credit to so many people that their personal or professional help over the years. And there is hardly a kind word or a trace of ‘self-pity in view. This time together has become one of the “most beautiful” is show business writing books. It is simply fun to read.
< , br /> ; Some of the most revealing stories are there, Burnett said about themselves. For example, the first time Burnett Cary Grant met while she was so petrified in fear of him, she tried to bolt the party. As a young girl Grant had watched the screen. Even if it were a TV star in good faith, she felt so inadequate, she tried to run. turns out it was a big fan of it “Some time later, on a flight to New York, she was shocked when shown the film, which transformed as” The Front Page, “one of the performances of the poorer quality of Burnett. If the film was finished, she asked the hostess for the microphone and apologized PA bad for the other passengers! Act

This time, as surely please all fans Carol Burnett. The book only confirms what many of us thought at all – she’s funny, gay, down-to-earth, honest and a mistress. If you act to share unforgettable moments with a real class, make a copy. You will not regret it!

I do not agree with the previous study. I loved the first treaty Burnett, but only OK. If you like and remember the Carol Burnett show and television appearances of the other author, you will probably find this book easy entertaining. He recalls anecdotes and stories of life and public sweet Burnett, but contains almost nothing of their personal lives or internal.

In some ways it shows how times have changed over the past two decades. Where have all the superficial stories that need the autobiography of a celebrity, now we want all the viscera. I asked in the past because they felt that motherhood, with her unconventional education, or why she has lived in Hawaii for many years. For example, they mentioned in two weeks Christmas trip to Honolulu – I wanted to know why, not the usual target unless special friends or family live there. You have an interesting approach to comedy and drama in their life. But we hear nothing of it. It is a warm, pleasant explains the different types of stories we tell a new friend on a long weekend in casual conversation, perhaps. Right, but – and this is a big but – if the author wanted us in their lives, we would have had more. Thus, this group than for the fans.

Even Dame Shirley could not keep that long, so calm, so true. a

Carol ransacked his personal life and gives an overview of their daughters from her marriage to producer Joe Hamilton, Erin, Jody, and Carrie, who died at 38 years of cancer in 2002. Carol
I remember the afternoon I spent with Carrie. I share my memories of fiesty young talent, their sincerity, courage, charisma, integrity, strength. I told Carol that I said to Carrie’s mother had two records in the 60 years that records have been long out-of-print, almost apologetically, asked Carrie if I wanted to make copies. (I).

I ask Carol, the only thing that makes Brian a special name. “I can not name — I have several names she said. “He has a sense of humor, he’s very intelligent, very friendly, very well organized and knows more about old movies than I do. In this time together, Funny Lady Carol Burnett gives readers a delicious taste of their escapades and adventures. From his television debut (which comes at the same time as their appearance on Broadway) and their lives in the coming decades, Ms. Burnett, the reader on a wild but enjoyable.
Conte Drive in small vignettes they used their chapters to an error in the various factors to give and people she has worked over the years. Lucille Ball, Cary Grant, Beverly Sills, Rock Hudson, Julie Andrews, and of course all of their historical are Carol Burnett Show all here. Rather than a long narrative, Ms. Burnett has chosen short stories for one or two memorable events which, although very short and stripped manage convey to the reader the essence of their subject are.
few jokes, but when it comes to the loss of her daughter, Carol Burnett show opens and tearing of the woman while admiring the courage.
this time together is short and the only negative comment can do is that you often wish they would give us even more of his funny and touching stories about people who have been quite happy in their work over the years.
