Can you help me with a malfunctioning Dishwasher soap dispenser?

The second phase of the wash requires that a door on the dispenser pops open to release the soap. It will no longer do that. I’ve checked the little springs and they’re still in place. I’ve scrubbed around the thing to try to eliminate any soap build up. Doesn’t help. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help. Jim

  1. Mike Says:

The solenoid that energizes and releases the door is either bad or gummed up. You will have to remove the inside panel to see what you need to do.

    Two things spring to mind.
First the dispenser could be broken.
Second the wire activating the dispenser could be broken or detached.

Remove the door panel and check out the wiring. If the wire goes through the hinge then that is the most likely place for it too break.

have you made sure that nothing is blocking the door from opening…most common problem. after that is checked then follow the others instructions
