I ordered 3 of these. They are beautiful. But they leak! Continually! Where the pump screws onto the base. I have to wipe off dried soap from the dispenser and the sink every day. Who needs a headache like this!

I bought this from a Target store, took it home, rinsed it out, and filled it with soap. I soon noticed that the soap coming out had an odd smell to it.
After several uses, the smell became obnoxious, so I opened it up and rinsed it out again. The plastic interior smells very strongly of whatever weird petroleum product went into its manufacture: an acrid, disgusting smell similar to gasoline. I have tried using vinegar, and later bleach, to get rid of this smell, to no avail.
If that weren’t bad enough — and it is, trust me — it rusts. Stainless steel? Nope.
It also leaks from the pump head as well as from the junction of the screw-on top and the base. The leaking soap combines with some kind of chemical in the plastic and possibly the thin metal veneer and becomes a rust-colored nasty goo that doesn’t rinse off very easily.
This product is of absolutely horrid quality. Your soap will come out smelling like gasoline, and I wouldn’t be surprised if whatever it’s leaching into the soap is toxic. It’s a complete waste of money, and it might even be dangerous.
I wish I had saved my receipt. Had I seen any of the reviews on Target’s site or Amazon, I never would have bought it. After very little use, it looks bad, leaks, and smells awful.
I can’t believe this item is still for sale. Do not buy this soap dispenser.

Purchased three of these because I thought they looked good. However, after only four months they began rusting all over. Terrible quality!

I have owned two of these stylish little soap dispensers. The nozzle of the first one rusted through in less than three months. Target exchanged it under warranty. Realizing that the underlying problem was poor-quality stainless steel, I coated the nozzle of the second one with clearcoat (the type sometimes used as a final coat when painting cars). This has successfully preserved the nozzle, but after 4-5 months rust spots constantly appear on the body and neck of the dispenser, and the neck has begun to crack. The rust spots are easily wiped off, but they return in just a few days. If you sniff this unit closely, it smells of iron, a sure sign that the stainless steel used is of very low grade.
I was tempted to give this item two stars instead of one. It’s stylish and nicely sized, and it dispenses just the right amount of soap. But a soap dispenser should last more than three months and not require prepping with clearcoat. Also, it’s a waste of the world’s resources to make things out of cheap materials that will be in landfill in less than one year.
UPDATE: My second soap dispenser rusted away and began to leak where the tube of the nozzle joins the main body of the nozzle. Needless to say, its replacement is a different model of soap dispenser.

this product leaks soap from the spout, from the cap. It gets every where. Defective.
